What is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)?

This is the premier certification for occupational health and safety professionals around the world, and is considered the top designation for indoor air quality consultants. This is the most prestigious certification offered by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH), accredited through the Board for Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Credentialing. A CIH is an individual who has met the requirements for education and experience, and through examination has demonstrated a level of knowledge and skills in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene. Once certified, a CIH is required to meet continuous learning requirements, as set by the ABIH, and remain up to date with new technologies and regulatory changes.
